Furies
Mythological avengers trio
In Greek mythology, the Furies are three goddesses of vengeance—Alecto, Megaera, and Tisiphone—who pursue and punish wrongdoers, especially those guilty of crimes against family.
Also called the Erinyes or, euphemistically, the Eumenides ("kindly ones").
They appear as terrifying figures with snakes in their hair: The Furies hounded Orestes for killing his mother. (Lowercase furies means violent rages.)
