European Cup

Old Champions League

The European Cup is a trophy awarded to the winner of an annual football (soccer) competition among top European club teams.

Established in 1955, it was renamed the UEFA Champions League in 1992, though European Cup still refers to both the trophy and the original tournament format: Real Madrid dominated the early years of the European Cup.
