European Championship
UEFA's quadrennial competition
European Championship refers to any continental competition determining the best national team or club in Europe for a particular sport.
Most commonly it means the UEFA European Championship in football (soccer), held every four years: France won the European Championship in 2000.
The term applies across sports—basketball, handball, athletics—wherever Europe crowns a champion.
Often shortened to Euros when referring to football: Are you watching the Euros this summer?
