Nile valley beliefs

Egyptian mythology is the system of gods, creation stories, and religious beliefs of ancient Egypt.

The pantheon includes Ra (the sun god), Osiris (god of the underworld), Isis, Horus, and Anubis, among hundreds of others.

Central themes include the afterlife, mummification, and the weighing of the heart against a feather to determine one's fate after death.

The pharaoh's tomb was decorated with scenes from Egyptian mythology.
