Drumline

Band's rhythm section

A drumline is the percussion section of a marching band, typically arranged in a line formation during performances.

The term covers both the musicians and their collective sound—heavy on snare drums, bass drums, and cymbals.

Drumlines feature prominently in halftime shows, parades, and competitive drum corps: The drumline kept perfect time through the entire routine.

By extension, drumline describes the style of rhythmic, synchronized percussion associated with these groups.
