E-Class

German luxury line

E-Class is Mercedes-Benz's midsize luxury sedan line, positioned between the smaller C-Class and larger S-Class.

The designation has become shorthand for executive-level German automotive engineering: He upgraded from a Honda to an E-Class.

The E originally stood for Einspritzung (fuel injection), though this origin is now largely forgotten.
