Combat output rate
DPS is gaming slang for "damage per second"—a measure of how much harm a character or weapon inflicts over time.
It also refers to players whose role is dealing damage rather than healing or absorbing hits: We need more DPS on this boss fight.
High DPS characters typically sacrifice durability for offensive output.
