DNA profile
Unique hereditary signature
A DNA profile is a set of genetic markers unique to an individual, used for identification in forensic investigations, paternity testing, and other legal or medical contexts.
Like a fingerprint, it can link a person to biological evidence: The DNA profile matched samples found at the crime scene.
Also called a genetic profile or DNA fingerprint.
