D-Town

Motown's home turf

D-Town is slang for Detroit, Michigan, used especially by residents and in hip-hop culture: I'm from D-Town, born and raised.

The D- prefix pattern applies to other cities—Dallas, Denver, Des Moines—so context usually clarifies which city is meant.

Without context, D-Town most commonly refers to Detroit.
