Chinese astrology

Twelve animal signs

Chinese astrology is a system of divination based on a twelve-year cycle, each year associated with an animal: rat, ox, tiger, rabbit, dragon, snake, horse, goat, monkey, rooster, dog, and pig.

A person's birth year determines their animal sign, which supposedly influences personality and destiny.

The system also incorporates five elements and yin-yang principles.
