Chanukkah

Jewish winter celebration

Chanukkah is a variant spelling of Hanukkah, the eight-day Jewish festival of lights commemorating the rededication of the Second Temple in Jerusalem.

The spelling reflects different transliterations of the Hebrew letter chet: We celebrated Chanukkah with my grandmother this year.

Also spelled Chanukah.
