Boris Karloff
Boris Karloff was the stage name of William Henry Pratt (1887–1969), a British actor who became the face of American horror cinema.
His portrayal of Frankenstein's monster in 1931 defined the genre and made him synonymous with cinematic monsters.
The name evokes old Hollywood horror: He moved through the fog like Boris Karloff in a Universal picture.
