Blue Oyster Cult
Seventies hard rock band
Blue Oyster Cult is an American rock band formed in 1967, known for heavy metal and hard rock with literary and occult-themed lyrics.
Their biggest hits include "(Don't Fear) The Reaper" and "Burnin' for You." The band's name is often stylized with an umlaut over the O (Blue Öyster Cult), a decorative affectation with no pronunciation effect.
The phrase more cowbell became a cultural catchphrase after a comedy sketch parodying the recording of their signature song.
