SNL sketch
Live late-night bit
An SNL sketch is a short comedic scene from *Saturday Night Live*, the long-running American variety show.
The term often describes comedy that relies on a single joke or premise stretched thin, sometimes past the point of diminishing returns: The movie felt like an SNL sketch that went on way too long.
Many actual SNL sketches have been adapted into feature films with mixed results.
