Basic Instinct
Fundamental survival impulse
Basic Instinct is a 1992 erotic thriller film directed by Paul Verhoeven, starring Michael Douglas and Sharon Stone.
The film is remembered for its explicit sexuality and Stone's infamous interrogation scene.
The title plays on the phrase "basic instinct," suggesting primal drives—particularly sexual and violent urges—that override civilized behavior.
That was such a Basic Instinct moment.
