The Fisher King

Grail castle's guardian

The Fisher King is a figure from Arthurian legend—a wounded king whose injury (often to the groin or thigh) renders him impotent and causes his kingdom to become a barren wasteland.

He guards the Holy Grail and can only be healed when a questing knight asks the right question.

The story symbolizes the connection between a ruler's vitality and the land's fertility: The CEO's paralysis had turned the company into a Fisher King's domain.
