Balderdash is nonsense—foolish, empty, or untrue talk.
The word sounds slightly old-fashioned and theatrical, often used to dismiss something as rubbish: Balderdash! That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.
It carries less vulgarity than "bullshit" while serving a similar dismissive function.
