Aspies
Neurodivergent community members
Aspies is informal for people with Asperger's syndrome, a condition on the autism spectrum characterized by difficulties with social interaction and nonverbal communication, often alongside focused interests and attention to detail.
The term is used both by those with the condition and by others: Aspies often prefer direct communication.
Some find it endearing; others consider it reductive.
