Anthony Bourdain

Anthony Bourdain was an American chef, author, and television host known for exploring food as a window into culture and human connection.

His memoir *Kitchen Confidential* (2000) revealed the chaotic reality of restaurant kitchens.

His travel shows—*No Reservations*, *Parts Unknown*—took viewers to places rarely seen on American television, treating street vendors and home cooks with the same respect as fine dining chefs.

Bourdain brought a literary sensibility and working-class irreverence to food media.

He died by suicide in 2018.
