4x100 relay
Sprint team event
A 4x100 relay is a track and field race in which four teammates each run 100 meters, passing a baton between them.
The event tests both individual speed and the precision of handoffs—a fumbled exchange can cost a team the race.
Also called the 4x100 meter relay or sprint relay.
The American team dropped the baton in the 4x100 relay.
