1989

Wall came down

1989 refers to the calendar year, often invoked for its historical significance—the fall of the Berlin Wall, the Tiananmen Square protests, the end of the Cold War era.

In contemporary usage, it frequently appears as a cultural marker: Taylor Swift's album *1989* or as shorthand for late-eighties nostalgia.

Someone's class of 1989 graduated that year.
