wrist locks
Grappling control techniques
Wrist locks are grappling techniques that hyperextend or rotate the wrist joint to control or submit an opponent.
Common in martial arts like judo, jiu-jitsu, and aikido, they apply leverage against the wrist's limited range of motion, causing pain or threatening injury: He tapped out when she caught him in a wrist lock.
Also used by police for restraint.
