wire stripper
Cable prep tool
A wire stripper is a hand tool for removing insulation from electrical wires without damaging the conductor inside.
Most have notched jaws calibrated to different wire gauges: Use a wire stripper to expose about half an inch of copper.
The term also applies to workers who salvage copper wire from discarded equipment.
