wildling
Wild-grown plant offspring
A wildling is a plant or animal that grows or lives in the wild, especially one that has escaped cultivation or domestication.
In gardening, it often refers to a seedling that sprouts naturally rather than being deliberately planted: A few wildlings came up in the flower bed.
The term gained wider currency through fantasy fiction, where it describes people who live outside civilization's boundaries—untamed, free from social constraints.
