A widow's peak is a V-shaped point in the hairline at the center of the forehead, where hair grows downward rather than straight across.
The term comes from the resemblance to the pointed hoods traditionally worn by widows in mourning.
It's a genetic trait, neither rare nor common: He inherited his father's widow's peak.
