Weapons labs are research facilities dedicated to developing military armaments—particularly nuclear weapons.
In the United States, the term typically refers to the national laboratories at Los Alamos and Lawrence Livermore, which design and maintain the nuclear arsenal: Scientists at the weapons labs ran simulations of the new warhead design.
The phrase can also apply to facilities developing chemical, biological, or conventional weapons.
