Doctors Without Borders
Global medical charity
Doctors Without Borders is an international humanitarian organization that provides emergency medical care in crisis zones—war, epidemics, natural disasters, famine.
Founded in France in 1971, it operates independently of governments and sends medical teams wherever need is greatest, regardless of political boundaries: Doctors Without Borders set up field hospitals after the earthquake.
Also known by its French name, Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF).
