wax casting
Poured mold technique
Wax casting is a metalworking technique where a wax model is coated in a heat-resistant mold material, then heated so the wax melts and drains out, leaving a cavity to be filled with molten metal.
Also called lost-wax casting.
The method produces intricate detail and has been used for thousands of years in jewelry, sculpture, and industrial manufacturing.
