wave frequency
Cycles per second
Wave frequency is the number of waves that pass a fixed point in a given unit of time, typically measured in hertz (cycles per second).
This applies to any oscillating phenomenon—sound waves, light waves, radio waves, ocean waves.
Higher frequency means waves are more closely spaced; lower frequency means they're spread further apart.
The wave frequency determines whether we perceive light as red or blue.
Frequency and wavelength are inversely related: as one increases, the other decreases.
