water skis
Lake surface gliders
Water skis are a pair of long, narrow boards strapped to the feet for gliding across water while being towed by a motorboat.
The skis are wider and shorter than snow skis, designed to plane on the surface.
To water-ski is to engage in the sport: We water-skied all afternoon on the lake.
