water-logged
Drenched beyond capacity
Waterlogged means saturated or soaked with water.
A waterlogged boat has taken on so much water it can barely float.
Waterlogged soil is so saturated it can't absorb more rain.
The word extends to anything heavy with absorbed liquid: waterlogged sponges, waterlogged timber.
