Digital film enhancements
Visual effects are imagery created or manipulated digitally for film, television, or video—explosions, alien landscapes, fantastical creatures, or anything impractical to capture on camera.
Often shortened to VFX.
Distinguished from practical effects, which are achieved physically on set.
The visual effects in that movie cost more than the actors' salaries combined.
