video disc
Shiny movie carrier
A video disc is a flat circular medium for storing video content, read by laser or stylus.
The term covers several formats including LaserDisc and DVD, though it's now largely historical—video disc gave way to DVD and then to streaming.
Sometimes spelled as one word: videodisc.
