vasodilatation

Blood vessels relaxing

Vasodilatation is the widening of blood vessels, which increases blood flow and lowers blood pressure.

The process occurs naturally during exercise or in response to heat, and can be induced medically to treat conditions like hypertension or angina.

Also spelled vasodilation, which is more common in American usage.
