untrue
Contrary to reality
Untrue means not in accordance with fact or reality—in other words, false.
An untrue statement is one that does not correspond to what actually happened.
When applied to people, untrue suggests unfaithfulness or disloyalty: He was untrue to his wife for years.
Something can also be untrue in the sense of being imprecise or not level: a wheel that wobbles is said to be untrue, running off its proper axis.
