unthrottling
Releasing speed restrictions
Unthrottling is removing limits on speed, bandwidth, or processing power.
Internet providers may throttle connections during peak hours; unthrottling restores full capacity.
The term applies to any system where performance has been artificially constrained: After unthrottling the CPU, temperatures spiked but performance doubled.
Figuratively, it suggests releasing pent-up energy or effort.
