unsaddling
Taking off gear
Unsaddling is removing a saddle from a horse or other animal after riding.
The term appears most often in horse racing, where horses are unsaddled in a designated area after a race: The jockey led the winner to the unsaddling enclosure.
Figuratively, unsaddling can mean relieving someone of a burden or responsibility.
