underwater park
Aquatic dive sanctuary
An underwater park is a protected marine area designated for recreation, conservation, or both.
Like land-based parks, underwater parks may feature marked trails, interpretive signage, and restrictions on certain activities.
Some preserve natural reefs and ecosystems; others are created by sinking ships or sculptures to form artificial reefs: We snorkeled through the underwater park's statue garden.
