seal sanctuary
Marine mammal haven
A seal sanctuary is a facility dedicated to rescuing, rehabilitating, and protecting seals—marine mammals that often strand on beaches due to injury, illness, or separation from mothers.
These sanctuaries provide veterinary care and, when possible, release animals back to the wild.
Some maintain permanent populations of seals unable to survive in nature: We visited the seal sanctuary on our trip to Cornwall.
