truth-functional
Value depends on parts
Truth-functional describes logical operations where the truth value of a compound statement depends entirely on the truth values of its parts.
In logic, connectives like "and," "or," and "not" are truth-functional: The statement "P and Q" is true only if both P and Q are true.
Truth-functional logic forms the basis of classical propositional logic and much of computer science.
