tribute concerts
Honoring artists onstage
Tribute concerts are live performances honoring a musical artist or group, typically featuring other musicians playing that artist's songs.
They may celebrate a living legend, commemorate someone who has died, or raise money for a cause associated with the honoree: The tribute concert for Freddie Mercury drew massive crowds.
The performers are usually admirers or collaborators of the artist being honored.
