trapeze bar
Acrobat's swinging grip
A trapeze bar is the horizontal rod suspended by ropes or straps that acrobats grip and swing from during aerial performances.
The term distinguishes the bar itself from the full trapeze apparatus.
In fitness contexts, trapeze bars appear on swing sets and in aerial yoga studios: She chalked her hands before grabbing the trapeze bar.
