tissue graft
Surgical tissue transfer
A tissue graft is living tissue surgically transplanted from one site to another—either within the same body or between individuals.
Skin grafts cover burn wounds; bone grafts repair fractures.
The graft may come from the patient (autograft), a donor (allograft), or another species (xenograft).
Success depends on the graft establishing blood supply and integrating with surrounding tissue.
