thermal bridging
Insulation bypass path
Thermal bridging is heat transfer through a material that conducts energy more readily than the surrounding insulation.
In buildings, metal studs, concrete slabs, or window frames create thermal bridges—pathways where heat escapes in winter or enters in summer, bypassing insulation.
The architect specified insulated cladding clips to reduce thermal bridging at the facade.
