Unhealthy indoor environment
A sick building is one whose indoor environment causes health problems for occupants—headaches, respiratory issues, fatigue, or irritation that improve after leaving.
The term usually appears in sick building syndrome, describing symptoms linked to poor ventilation, chemical contaminants, or mold: Half the staff complained of headaches, suggesting a sick building.
