tendon strain
Overstretched connective tissue
A tendon strain is an injury to a tendon—the fibrous tissue connecting muscle to bone—caused by overstretching or partial tearing.
Unlike a sprain, which affects ligaments, a strain damages tendons or muscles.
Symptoms include pain, swelling, and limited movement: The doctor diagnosed a tendon strain in my ankle.
Also called a pulled tendon.
