telestrator
Broadcast drawing tool
A telestrator is a device that allows someone to draw or write directly on a video image in real time.
Sports broadcasters use telestrators to diagram plays, circling players or tracing routes while footage runs: The analyst used the telestrator to show how the defense broke down.
The technology has become standard in televised sports commentary.
