telephonophobia

Fear of calls

Telephonophobia is an irrational fear or intense anxiety about making or receiving phone calls.

The condition goes beyond simple preference for texting—sufferers may experience genuine dread, racing heart, or avoidance behavior when the phone rings: Her telephonophobia meant she let every call go to voicemail.

The term is informal rather than clinical.
