teleconverter
Focal length multiplier
A teleconverter is an optical device that attaches between a camera body and lens to increase focal length, effectively magnifying the image.
A 2x teleconverter doubles the reach of a 200mm lens to 400mm.
The tradeoff is reduced light transmission and potentially softer images: I added a teleconverter for the wildlife shots.
