tear sheets
Proof of publication
Tear sheets are pages removed from a publication to serve as proof that an advertisement or article appeared as contracted.
Advertisers receive tear sheets to verify their ad ran; writers and artists use them as portfolio samples showing published work.
The name comes from literally tearing pages from magazines or newspapers, though digital tear sheets—PDFs or screenshots—now serve the same purpose.
